Project Overview

Delivered for Company of Cooks at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh’s world-class science centre and 5-star visitor attraction, the Core Café was designed to create a modern, accessible hospitality destination that enhances the visitor experience whilst supporting the demands of a high-footfall educational venue.

Located within Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh’s renowned science centre and planetarium, the Core Café forms an integral part of the visitor journey, providing a welcoming environment for families, tourists, school groups and event attendees.

Operated by Company of Cooks, the project transformed an ageing café into a contemporary hospitality destination inspired by the surrounding landscape of Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park. Natural materials, earthy tones and biophilic design principles were used throughout to create a strong connection between the interior and its unique setting.

Alongside a refreshed food and beverage offer, the café introduces modern ordering technology, improved accessibility and flexible seating arrangements, enabling the space to adapt seamlessly to daily visitors, educational groups and large-scale events.
